Itinerary description

Climb to Monte Perdido (3355m) from Refugio Goriz. (Day 2 of 2).
The route starts from Refugio Goriz (after camping next to the refuge) very early in the morning, before sun rise. The path is well visible and easy to follow with many hikers going up. First section (3,8km, 2900m) until Lago Helado ("ice lake") is fairly easy, without any technical difficulties. From this point a very steep climb starts, through the area of loose rocks until the peak! The sticks are absolutely necessary (the effort will be double or triple without them). The peak offers panoramic views in all directions, including French part of Pyrenees to the north and entire Ordesa valley to the south!! The descent done with the same route.
Level moderate to high for the loose rocks part.
