Itinerary description
This is very scenic hike from the Refúgio do Raiz campsite through private and national park lands, climbing up to a banana field and up to a beautiful red rocks hill. You will enjoy beautiful views of the chapada das mesas and in particular the morro do chapeu and other hills and the. You will pass through the 'portal da chapada' (one of the postcards of the national Park) which is accessible also through a shorter hike with close access. This hike can be difficult mainly because sometimes is hard to find the track and you can get lost, also because of some steep parts are on slippery rocks and sand. I believe the trail was opened/maintained by Renilton from the campsite. I really recommend this hike, but get information and get some information beforehand. You will be charged BR$ 10 from the national Park for the access to the national park area.
