Itinerary description
October 2017
The Refugio is set amongst the mountains off the A355 en route to Marbella and after leaving the main road we have to drive for about 5 km along a single track (tarmacked) road that leads to the Parador Hotel and REefugio, this alone is worth the visit with its views across the valley.
It is an easy walk through the woods on open moors to the first of the Miradors overlooking Ojen, however there is a few steps to climb up to the mirador
It’s then another easy walk to the second Mirador overlooking Marbella and hopefully, on a clear day, Africa, hopefully we may see some deer whilst we take a break and admire the views.
The return route deviates off the main track back and takes the path through the woods and alongside the arroyo, and at a couple of points crossing it.
This is a narrow path through the woods with some small rocky sections. It is somewhat undulating so there are a few small inclines and declines with rocky ‘steps’.
