REFUGE BEZBOG-LAGO POPOVO-REFUGE LAKE TEVNO-REFUGE DEMIANITSA (PARK PIRIN)

Description:
From the town of Bansko, we take a taxi to the Golce Delchev refuge, price 40 levies (20 euros). It leaves us at the ski lift station and we take the chairlift to the middle station since the stretch to bezbog shelter does not work.
The chairlift costs us 4 leva per person (2 euros) and leaves us at elevation 1900 m. Here starts the trail that by track in less than 1 hour we are located in refuge bezbog. We see the outside of the facilities and the lake of the same name.

We continue the path between fog to the south first ascending the hill of 2400 m and then descending to the level 2200 m where we find a fork in the path. We continue towards Popovo Lake ascending again until 2260 m. We find a very large lake with an island in the middle surrounded by fog. We begin to surround it to follow our path towards the Dermikapia hill located at 2466 m.
Arrived at the hill hits the wind and descend a little to stay above the Argirovo Lake where we make a stop to replenish liquid and peck some energetic bar. After about 20 minutes of rest we follow the path towards Lake Mitrovo and again the level curves come together as we have to climb the second pass of the day and the hardest because of the difference in altitude of 2606 m. The climb is progressive with several stops to rest, when we reach the base of the hill we find a snowfield that we surround by the northernmost part of the snowfield. Finally we stand on the pass looking across the valley and the Tevno refuge and the Malka Hamenica peaks (2690 m) to the south and Monivi dvori to the north (2722 m). We descend along the path to the refuge and Lake Tevno and because the day threatens rain we continue towards the last pass called Collado Mozgovishka (2513 m). At the beginning of the descent we find several horses and mules that carry food to the shelter, we descend a little and it begins to drizzle. Stop to put on the raincoats next to the prevalsko lake and follow the valley down to the demianitsa refuge, luckily we arrived at the refuge without getting too wet for that one hour later the rain did not stop all afternoon and night.

• Long pants and appropriate clothing (raincoat, warm or windproof clothing).

• Cap, sunglasses, sunscreen and lip protection.

• Food for the day.
• Bring drinking water (minimum 2 liters).
