Itinerary description
Directions: Refsnesstranda - Dragonfjellet - Øvre Ramberg - Refsnes terrasse - Refsnes Gods
This route goes along Refsnes naturreservat, which extends from Refsnesstranda in the south to Rambergnebba in the north. It follows for the most, the blue marked trail loop within the protected area. The nature reserve is characterised by the diversity of species populating it: almost all the tree species in Norway are present here, and it is specially rich in flora and birds.
On the way northwards, the path goes in parallel to the coast and several spots offer a good view to the fjord. The most spectacular of them is Dragonfjellet, situated on the top of a cliff. Be aware that the slope goes downwards to the edge of the cliff, so be careful not to fall down when it is slippery.
On your way back, you will come out of the reserve to pass by Øvre Ramberg farm. The path will descend afterwards in direction to Refsnesstranda. Shortly before getting to the way that you took northwards before, take a path over a stream to the left. You will ascend until ending up at Refsnes terrasse. Walk along the streets until finding a path downwards between the houses. You will come back to the starting point.
