Itinerary description
This is late august 2022 when heavy monsoon rains have brought out small puddles with Fairy Shrimp, Triops and tadpoles.
Park at sandstone quarry parking lot in Red Rock Canyon (Entrance fee applies). Follow the marked trail to Calico tanks for less than 1 mile (3/4) you should find the largest puddle with all the creatures in it.
The sandstone near the end is a bit slippery due to loose sand but otherwise this is a fairly easy hike. Bring enough water with summer temps morning and evening is best.
