Itinerary description
This is a good walking day out visiting the Red and White St John Knights Hospitaller towers. The Red Tower is open to the public but the white tower is under restoration. There are some very nice beaches along the way with cafes, on the return route are some excellent views of the Malta main land and a good places to stop for a rest. Suggest staying on the road for the last half mile rather than walking through the hotel gardens.

We did this trail a few days before New Years 2018. Started clockwise from Mellieha. First third is ok but mainly scrubby coastline with some good views of Gozo and an interesting cave where there were climbers attempting a big overhang. Trail gets much more interesting past the ferry port when it gets into the local holiday homes and small beaches. Some great local cafes here for lunch with very good prices. White tower was a bit disappointing but straight road across island in low trees very scenic and route back along coast great views over Mellieha. Overall recommended and gets more interesting as the walk progresses. Took us the same time as notes with regular stops and relaxed pace.
