Itinerary description

Walk #27 from Bush Walks in the Toowoomba Region, by Neil McKilligan & Ian Savage. They rate it as 4.5hrs, 9.5km, Hard.

Park at the National Park rest area and follow the tracks to the caves then up onto the dirt road. Make your way down, entering the national park track and heading left down the steep descent to the creek. Turn right and choose your own adventure to to mini fall where you can scramble/short climb down to the left. Continue a few hundred metres to the big falls.
There is a faint trail to the right whoch heads down to the base. There was a rope in place to assist with the first steep part, you may wish to take a 20m rope of your own if you don't want to trust this one. Then there is a steep zigzag down to the base of the falls.
If you climb and scramble a little further down the creek there are some excellent swimming holes.
Returning the same way up the creek, turn right at the creek crossing and follow the trail. Where given a choice, take the left or lower option.
You will need to head down to the creek to meet the main Buaraba Creek trail. The track notes say to follow an old fence line down towards the creek but in this recording we overshot it (didnt see it) and made our way down a faint gully then headed back along the creek until we met up with the NP sign. From there it is simply a matter of following the NP track back up to the Carpark.
