Itinerary description
Start/Finish is a well set car park, took me about 1.5 hrs from Atlanta Buckhead to get there.
Fantastic track for a smooth some 4kms go and 4kms back hike, all of it going by the side of a nice small current with some water jumps, in the great forest in Chattahoochee National Park.
Track will go for 3.8 kms over a nice easy to walk inside forest track , last 200 meters it does go up, and ends with a need to do some easy climbing with the help of roots and rocks. That last bit maybe not for everyone but optional, what you find at the top is a nice view but no need to take risks on the climb for it.
Great for family walks, kids friendly, and not in great shape too, maybe except for the climb last 100 meters.
known place, many people will go there on weekends, car park can get very busy.
Near town Helen great Bavarian atmosphere (I did this during Oktoberfest 2015!! : ) with nice restaurants for the after walk!
