Itinerary description
A lovely walk with plenty of shade in the summer months. The first section climbs steadily uphill for about 2 hours - but almost all of the climb is on shady forest paths. Near the Puerta del Reventón (a junction of routes) there are large rock formations, including one known as the "Carro del Diablo" - the Devil's Chariot. After another short uphill section (very gentle and on forest tracks) you arrive at the top of the climb. After that it is a steady and very gentle descent on forest tracks with some nice views of the Lozoya valley. I cut off some of the corners of the track, but if you don't want to do that, just follow the track all the way back to Rascafría.

Leave the track here if you want to cut off a loop of the track
Follow the rough path for 2 minutes and then go left and downhill (there is no path) to pick up a more defined path lower down the hill. Turn left on the lower path and follow it for about 5 minutes, then bear right and head down the hill to re-join the main track below.
