Itinerary description
The Ramnafjellet is a medium-sized summit (alt. 750m) located in the North of Kvaløja island, 50 minutes far from Tromsø by car. It overlooks the Tromvik bay and the Grøtfjorden and offers great panoramas.
There is no signposted trail, the only way is going uphill. The first km is passing through a nice fairytale forest until a first much more rocky plateau called Aksla. If you are lucky you can meet a reindeer like we did. After that you'll arrive to a second smaller plateau called Durmålshamran, have a pause and contemplate the beauty of the scenery, especially Tromvik bay with its verdant shores and turquoise sea water.
The last step to the top is much more difficult and steep through the rocks. At this stage, we get back via an East itinerary.
Easy parking at a place called "Klavika", just in front of the Borgan islet.

Nice trail. However, one really thanks GPS for support along the path as the pathway is mostly impossible to find.
We went up counterclock wise and went back through the saddle on the north side of the loop.
