Itinerary description
Dolno Jelovce - Ramen Kamen - PD Bistra - Dolno Jelovce
If you have ever traveled trough our highway and pass Gostivar, you would have notice this huge flat rock on the mountain, it looks like someone planted it on the mountain, this is not a peak it is just rock formation on pretty grassy terrain, it is attraction for people that live in Gostivar and the villages arround and it is visited often by locals.
There are many different routes that are starting from the villages bellow. Many years a go I did this trail from Vrapčište village and it was not marked and it had so much mud on the first part of the trail that walking was very unpleasent. This route from Dolno Jelovce is marked and even it was raining last few days, path was ok, no mud.
Trail is easy to follow as there are markations on both ways. On descent you might take the road instead shortcuts as path is very steep at the beginning and narrow, as it is rarely known path it was fully grown on some places, we tried to clean up as much as we could.
There are lots of berries and mushrooms if you catch the right time. You can combine this route with some of the peaks arround, it has awsome view to Gostivar from Ramen Kamen (Flat Stone) as you can see from the pictures.

Waypoints
Intersection
4,191 ft
Here is the intersection to a very steep and narrow path
It is a short cut and you will save a lot of going trough the dirt road but path is narrow, overgrown and very steep in the beginning, so if you still decide you want to take the short cut it is marked well but you will have to brake trough the vegetation in some parts.
