Itinerary description
Old Rallarstigen trail from Gällivare to Porjus, originally used when building Inlandsbanan (the inland railway, Gällivare–Östersund) but now a well-marked but infrequencly used trail through ancient taiga forests and swamps. Easy hike but quite long for a single day, so you might take a tent or organise it such that you hike only part of it (the trail crosses the road three times). I was a bit too early (late May and still a lot of snow and meltwater) so in some small parts I had to take small detours, but the trail is very well marked and route-finding is no problem.
