Itinerary description

Rainbow Falls Trail (Smoky Mountains National Park) This park is in the Smoky Mountain National Park. I began at the trailhead for Rainbow Falls and hiked about 3 miles up to the waterfall. It is a very rugged and steep trail. After the falls I hiked up the mountain more and then turned back.

    I have followed this trail  View more

    The elevation does begin to change rapidly, but wonderful views of the forest and streams that thin out and shift to mountain views as one goes higher. Can take the trail further up to the top of Mt. Leconte & the Leconte Lodge.
