Rafisah Dam to Al Suhub Rest house Summit hike.
Khorfakkan.

This Trail can be considered as Beginner Plus during Winter.
But to be considered as Moderate due to weather and humidity effect that tires the person while hiking steep up and down.
This Trail is newly laid in Khorfakkan, next to Rafisah Dam area.
Start point of the trail from the Dam Walk.
You can park cars and start the hike from this point. Search on google maps for "Al Raafisah Dam Walk"
https://goo.gl/maps/aScCpb1u8RmiJPVi7
The trail is well laid most of the areas.
The trail finally reaches the Al Suhub Rest House that was inaugurated by HH Ruler of Sharjah Sheikh Sultan last week.
The Top elevation is 580 meters. Total elevation gain is about 500 meters.
The views from the top are impressive of Arabian Sea, Khorfakkan city, Rabi tower trail and Khorfakkan port.
While ascending the first half of the trail, you have impressive views of Rafisah Dam with lots of water activities in the Lake.
I suggest, please hike up the first half section at least to enjoy the Raafisah dam view, if not all the way to the summit.
Take usual care of Water, hydration, electrolytes and snacks.
The first half section is good without Hiking poles, but the second half Hiking poles are must due to steep descent and loose pebble type stones on the trail.
Hiking Shoes are MUST.

Hi Patrik, question for dummies 🤭. This trail is different than the car road to Al Suhub rest house, right? I mean, I have seen the photos you added here, but I wanted to make sure that the trail doesn't intersect in any way with the car road. I've seen so many videos about this place and they show only the car road. Sorry again for my dummy question.
Hi Elida,
This trail is purely Hiking trail that starts from Raafisa dam Dam Walk parking.
At about 70% Ascent, this trail merges with a sgort section of an offroad and then it connects to the Hiking trail again.
At about 95% of the Ascent, you get to walk on the Asphalted road for about 100 meters ( it's part of the actual cars approach road, very close to the Suhub Rest house )
You come back the same way to the start point unless you have alternative plans.
Thank you Patrik again for the detailed response.
Hello Patrick, a quick question did you guys hiked for sunset?
Hi Ann, Yes, we hiked in the evening due to peak summer elements.
Now in cooler months, best would be to start early in the dark and reach the top section or summit on time for an impressive sunrise moment.
Thanks a lot Patrick
Welcome anytime, Enjoy Hiking !!

We finally did this trail as season inauguration. During the early morning there is shade on the trail until around 7.30 or 8 am I believe.
Hi Elida,
Its a nice trail for the Sunrise, and yes. the Eastern flank of the mountain gives good amount of shade in the morning, if the hike is planned well.
Enjoy Hiking !!

Views along this trail are spectacular. This trail becomes moderate because of the elevation factor. One of the prime location for photography. we really enjoyed this trail!
