Radovna - Vintgar Gorje - Sveta Katarina - Blejsko Jereko - Lake Bled 2022-08-04 9:44
After a two-year wait, due to the restrictions of the COVID-19, this summer we went to see a little Slovenia. As on other occasions, with the help of Ramon de Giroguies , who has found us an alternative adjusted to the objectives. You will see that they are a set of several self-guided routes, which have the particularity of being easy and of a distance of less than 20 km. In some cases you can make small extensions to complete the route. They have also provided us with travel, accommodation and breakfast, lunch en route and dinner is no challenge for where we have stayed. During these seven days we will have covered about 125 km.
Today, on the sixth day, they also came to pick up all four of us and left us right in front of a bridge that crosses the Radovna, where the Triglavski – Narodni Park begins. The four of us walked together to the end of the Vintgar gorges. We had bought tickets in advance, at a certain time (11:00 a.m.) in order to be guaranteed entry on time.
Although it is a tremendous tourist attraction, it must also be said that it is hardly avoidable. Really beautiful, with walkways that make it easy to contemplate the spectacle of nature with great comfort. At the end of it all a stone bridge for the train - still in operation - and a dam to manage the water flow. well entertained
From this point, we will continue to find people until we reach the church of Santa Catarina. And we will start with the paved part until almost the end, with the exception of a nice intermediate section. We pass in front of the hotel where we will stay and continue to the train station to go down to the lake, it has a maximum depth of 36 m. We went all the way around, admiring different views of the Church of the Assumption, built in the 15th century, and of the castle. Then we took a leisurely swim - "quietly" is an understatement because it was full of people and it looked like one of our beaches in the middle of August - and we went up to rest at the hotel.
A very different day, practically all in the tourist area, full of people everywhere, but interesting. Resting at the famous hotel in Triglav was the best part of the day, and enjoying its terrace, the SPA and the well-known restaurant "1906" - the year this establishment was inaugurated - and walking the first stretch with our lovely colleagues from Denmark and the USA, it has been very enriching, as we had had little time to relate.
Health and Legs!!
