Itinerary description

The Golden Bay is the most famous place in Malta to enjoy a swim in some of the beaches that form this natural bay, as well as to discover endemic species or natural caves with capricious entrances. Our route will start at the limits of Mgarr from where we will walk until we reach the Bay of Gnejna. Following the coast, towards the north, we will reach the small peninsula of Il l-Karraba, where the limestone formations form small caves that shelter multiple maritime birds. We will continue the march towards the Bay of Tuffieha where we can walk through its fine sands and take a bath. Then and depending on the forces we can see some of the most beautiful cliffs on the island, such as those on the way to the picturesque Sweethaven stage, built in 1980, this seaside setting represents the fishing village where Popeye lived, which was represented by the popular Robin Williams.
