Itinerary description
When taking this walk, I was doubting between the adjectives rural and idyllic, so why not use them both? The walk starts and ends in Rossdorf, Thüringen, and leads through half forested, half open land south of the town. The views are very nice (not spectacular), and it doesn't get boring at any time. On the way back, you will walk through old beech forests, reminding you of times when knights would ride through them on horseback. The ascents and descents are not steep at all, and the whole walk is very feasible (easy to moderately difficult) for anyone in half decent physical shape (42p, 12,00km, 281m(+), 299m(-) & 5,4%/23%(+) according to IBP). If you happen to be around, it is certainly worth the two and a half hours...
