Itinerary description
The loop I was intending to walk proved not to be possible due to a missing (safe) pathway, despite being shown on both Wikiloc and Google maps. Instead I decided to make this linear walk (and back), which didn't turn out half bad. The first (and thus last) kilometre are tarmac, the rest is mostly dirt road, although hardly used (I saw two cars during more than three hours). The views of the lake and marshlands are nice, and the mediterranean vegetation, odours and sounds are omnipresent. All-in-all a pleasant enough walk (only moderately difficult, had it not been for the heat: 51p, 16,65km, 298m(+), 290m(-) & 4,4%/18%(+) according to IBP), which you can make without risk of stepping on a landmine. You can leave your car in front of the local power station (check with the security guard) and walk through the village, where some of the locals may look at you as if they see water burning. Bring enough water (at least two litres) and start at an early hour during the scorching summer months!
