Itinerary description
We had long waited to do this hike and are happy we did! The weather was perfect, sunny but not hot as there was wind and there wasn’t a lot of snow. We reached snow around 8.4km and few times after so we had to find ways around it, hence why our hike looks off but also to keep it in mind for you when planning for this hike. Some parts of the hike were uncomfortable as there was gravel. We had very low expectations from what people told us about the hike, but it ended up being quite enjoyable, the marker at the top is nice to take pictures of and with and it’s great to be able to say we’ve been at the highest point in Lebanon. The beginning with the views towards Bcharre and the other side Bekaa were incredible, but you don’t get a great view at the peak nor on the way.

I'm glad you did this hike, You were lucky, Because the area is closed again due to ongoing tensions between 2 villages as the Army closed the area for hikers as of July until the end of 2024 :(
