There is a gate in the middle of the treck and while you could easily overcome it, you'll find yourself into a (weirdly big) private owned land. The owner of the which is very much an annoying person and it might happen that you will find yourself unable to pass the last gate before reaching "le rocchette" and forced to get all to way back. This area is full of gates in the strangest places.
