Circular route through the very beautiful Pu Luong nature reserve with varied landscapes. Getting around these places is not easy, there are no signs or maps and it is difficult to find information about the places to visit.
We begin the route ascending along a path surrounded by vegetation, we cross the town of Po Doan with its classic constructions on wooden pylons, where the Thai ethnic population lives in the open air under these tall pillars on which the buildings are erected. While walking and after crossing the road twice, we arrive at a beautiful place where we descend between rice terraces and surrounded by good views of the mountains. The path descends and we pass through an area surrounded by huge specimens of bamboo. From here the trail becomes more and more blurred until it is lost completely. We had to descend through a terrain with thick vegetation and cross a ditch that we could not find a way to cross comfortably. Immediately, however, we reached a road that we followed all the way through the town of Chom Ui surrounded by mountains, rice fields and small population centers, installed following the valley or perched on top of hills. We have been moving along this road with little traffic for 3-4 Km observing the life around us, men and women working in the rice fields, children returning from school, small establishments selling some groceries, extended clothes, domestic animals, villagers chatting and smoking their pipes... The road winds and joins a string of population centers. If we continued a little further, we would come to Pho Doan and its market, but immediately on the right hand side we find a steep track which, after a very steep climb, has brought us back to the beginning of our route and to the house of guests where we are staying.
We have dared to do this route that spends most of the time on rural roads, tracks and paths. We have only had difficulties in the section that connects the rice terraces with the road that leads to Chom Ui and that should be studied better to find an alternative since it passes next to a private house and the terrain is not suitable to travel there. Apart from this circumstance, the rest of the route does not present any difficulties and passes through spectacular landscapes. You must, however, have the track, otherwise it is very easy to get lost.
