Itinerary description
Peak and two lakes circuit.
One of the most rewarding hikes I have done. Great reward for effort.
I did this hike in August and didn't start until 8:35am, still a lot earlier than a lot of hikers. Some were headed into Prutas as I was descending the last slope at 3:40pm. I am 70 and did it in 7 and a half hours with quite long times sitting and waiting for the sun to move over and light the mountains to the east If you start an hour later than I did you would get better light than I did. As I returned the light was great but the view not quite the same as that when ascending Prutas. I also spent plenty of time stopping for snacks while I just appreciated the magnificent views. After all that is what you are there for.
Nowhere was really exposed and precarious. Just plug along slowly on the uphills.
