Itinerary description
We parked at the sign on the main road indicating the way to Prodromos picnic site and dam.
The trail starts on the opposite side of the road. Our route was just over 2km one way and took us through a mixed terrain, with many sections along a beautiful forest trail and other parts that are dry and rocky with loose stones that can be tricky. Some parts that could be dangerous have safety railings. Overall an easy path, but inexperienced hikers should take care when walking on the loose stones. Beautiful views across Pedoulas village and on a clear day all the way to Morphou Bay. Interesting geology. Especially recommended during high summer to escape the intense heat of Nicosia and the humidity on the coast.
Although we didn't record it here, you can find other walking trails along dirt roads from the beautiful picnic area near the dam.
