Itinerary description

This thoroughly enjoyable hike explores the famous Galloping Goose Trail and most of the Cedar Grove Trail running above the Goose starting at the Gillespie Road entrance on the Galloping Goose on Gillespie Road in East Sooke heading to Matheson Lake also the creekside trail between the saltwater basin and the lake. Recording of this hike was stopped by dead battery but all trails are easy footpaths and signed with maps at key intersections. Parking and toilets are available at the trailhead. Splendid Nature! The Matheson Lake creekside Trail presents the only walk-in difficulties.
