Itinerary description
One of the two "tea plantation" walks on São Miguel.
This one is a pleasant stroll through the oldest tea plantation in Europe and waymarked red-yellow as PRC28 SMI.

The other tea plantation walk, PRC26 Porto Formoso, currently seems to be no longer maintained.
Very easy walk on field tracks with gentle ups and downs, quite suitable for the whole family.
At low altitude, so you can do this also if the weather is not so great.
Afterwards, have a visit to the tea room of the tea factory and museum, although both can be quite crowded in peak tourism season.
