PRC2 COR Volta ao Caldeirão

Este percurso começa e termina junto ao miradouro do Caldeirão e tem a duração aproximada de 2h30. Comece por descer à caldeira através de um atalho bem definido.
Quando chegar a uma pedra de grandes dimensões viramos à direita em direção à lagoa, seguindo atentamente a sinalética. Contorne a lagoa no sentido oposto dos ponteiros do relógio e volte a subir pelo mesmo caminho que desceu.
A existência de algumas ribeiras obriga-o a afastar-se algumas vezes da margem da lagoa e é importante prestar atenção às marcas de sinalização, principalmente em dias de nevoeiro que são frequentes na zona. Durante a caminhada pode observar e/ou escutar as Narcejas (Gallinago gallinago), o interior do Caldeirão é onde existe a maior concentração desta espécie. Outras aves que nidificam no Caldeirão são o Pato-real, (Anas platyrhynchos), e o Garajau-comum, (Sterna hirundo).
Já perto do fim do percurso encontrará à sua direita uma zona pantanosa, continue sempre até encontrar novamente a pedra por onde passou no final da descida até ao Caldeirão. Aqui vire à direita e suba até ao ponto de inico pelo mesmo caminho desceu.

This trail begins and ends next to Caldeirão's lookout and takes approximately 2h30.
The trail begins by taking us down to the crater through a well defined shortcut. When we reach a large stone, we turn to the right towards the lake.
It is important to follow the signs carefully. We contour the lake counterclockwise and ascend through the same track we first descended.
The existence of some streams makes us sometimes move away from the banks of the lake and it is important to pay attention to the marks, especially on foggy days that are frequent in this area.
During the walk we will be able to see and/or listen to snipes (Gallinago gallinago) that have its major concentration inside Caldeirão. Other birds that nest in Caldeirão are the Mallard (Anas platyrhynchos) and the Common Tern (Sterna hirundo). Near the end of the trail, we will see a wetland area on our right. We will continue until we find again the large stone we saw at the end of the descent. Here we turn to the right and leave Caldeirão using the same track we used for descending.
