Itinerary description
With Hiking Passion Adventure group
Leech: Maybe. Haven't seen a single one. Probably because it was dry
Trail Conditions: Excellent, well-maintained by the locals. Some sections do muddy up, but, seems manageable
Water Source: None, except probably at the church
Not bad. 65 to 70° steep ascent in starting, and once pass the church, BOOM! 85 to 87° steepness. There's rope sections to assist you, as well.
And the view, WOW. Complete 360° view of Bario, Mount Batu Buli, the sacred Mount Batu Lawi and of course, mountain ranges connecting with Mount Murud.
This mountain and its trail is maintained by the local community. There's a donation box (compulsory), placed right outside by the trailhead, with sign-in ledger. Each has to cough out RM5. And, it shows. The trail is clean. There's toilets behind the church, halfway up. However, no water sources that is available, except at the church.
