Looks like a nice trail.
but how can we reach the beginning of the trip?.
Also, is it possible to shorten the flat end (which seems to follow the road)?
Hello, with a taxi from our hotel to the starting point = first picture. At the end with a bus back to the hotel. I think that shortening is not a good idea.not much trafic. Don't do the walk after heavy rains ! Kind regards.
Hi, What to tell the taxi driver to get the starting point?
Hello, the trail starts in a curve over the road to Mirthios. I think every taxidriver knows the place.
We walked this gorge in september 2014. The taxi driver said that the walking entrance from "your" starting point near Mithios now is closed. We knew that the entrance further south would mean a much longer walk on a warm sunny day. We therefore insisted that he should drop us off at the hairpinturn near Mirthios. Well.....He was right: We came to a gate closed with a chain and a key lock, with a very private sign indicating no trespassing.....All the same, we climbed over the gate and walked down the fields to the right in stead of following the dirt road down to the houses. This way we came down to the very beginning of the gorge, fortunately !! There is a map sign of the gorge on both starting points. I recommend this gorge when it's not too warm, we had more than 30 degr Celsius, too much....because there is not tooo much shadow in many parts, including the last kilometres to reach the coast road. Also, mind you, in spring there is much water and may be impossible to pass at some places.
Hello, we walked this gorge in october, with water ... i try to ad a new picture. Thanks for your comment and kind regards.
