Itinerary description
As per last September. However, this time took litoral instead of coastal. Well indicated, however, when walking on Av. José Régio and at the intersection, ignore bronze color Albergue Camino sign to go right as we are to go left onto R. 25 Abril (Praça de São João on your right with nice trees and coffee shop in a corner). A bit further up, turn right on to R. da Igreja and then continue following the signs. However, this part of the track is quite urban and not very pretty. Consider litoral, along the promenade, if weather is not to hot.
Pavement is cobblestone, tarmac.
Accommodation: Hotel Sol Póvoa was OK. Rooms acceptable. Dinner nearby at O Marinheiro (250mts) provided an excellent meal with a huge variety of entrees (prawns, mussels, octopus salad, crab croquettes, prosciutto, etc., cod with mushed potatoes for main and crepes w/ice-cream and pastry with cream. Plenty of very good red and white wines.
