Basílica di San Jorge
The Basilica of St. George was founded around 920 AD by Prince Vratislav I, father of St. Wenceslas; the Benedictine monastery was added as early as 973 and with the occasion the basilica was enlarged. A first important reconstruction took place after the fire of 1142. The interiors as we see them today are the result of major renovations carried out in 1887 and 1908. In 1782, as part of the reforms of Emperor Joseph II, monastery was taken from its function; since then it was used as a barracks for many years. It is also the second oldest church in the city and, if we want to add a record, the oldest church within the Prague Castle complex.
Biblioteca Nazionale
The Klementinum national library was founded by the Jesuits in 1722 and today is considered one of the most beautiful libraries in the world The Klementinum national library in Prague is considered by many to be one of the finest examples of baroque architecture in the world. It is part of a historical complex of buildings covering an area of about 20 thousand square meters. Inaugurated in 1722, it once represented the third largest Jesuit college in the world.
Castello
Prague Castle (Pražský Hrad) stands on one of the nine hills on which the Czech capital develops and was the first inhabited center of the city. With an area of almost 70,000 square meters, it is the largest single-body castle in the world. The area around the castle is called Hradčany, or the Castle district.
Cattedrale di San Vito
the cathedral of San Vito A 600-year-old masterpiece For those arriving from Malà Strana and ascend to the Castle, the Gothic majesty of the cathedral of San Vito (Katedrala Sv. Vita) strongly contrasts with the Baroque of the Piccola Part. It is one of the largest Gothic cathedrals in Europe and dominates the city occupying the Third Court of the Prague Castle. When Prague became an archiepiscopal seat in 1344, King John of Luxembourg decided to build a church whose grandeur and beauty were worthy of the city: it took 600 years to complete it.
Cimitero Ebraico
The old Jewish cemetery ("Starý Židovský Hřbitov" in Czech), arose in the first half of the fifteenth century and is perhaps the most characteristic monument of the Jewish city of Prague. Squeezed between the buildings of the Josefov quarter, it has been for centuries the only place where the Prague Jews were able to bury their dead. It was thus that up to 1787, the year of closure, it was repeatedly necessary to resort to its elevation, covering the surface of new layers of land. The old tombstones have obviously not been buried, but have been brought to the surface, above the place where the relative deceased is buried. The result is an incredible expanse of gravestones close to each other, among which the main one is that of Rabbi Jehuda Liwa Ben Betzalel (called Rabbi Loew), who died in 1609. The oldest is instead that of the poet and scholar Avigdor Karo, dating back even to 1439.

JOSEFOV
The Jewish quarter of Prague (Josefov) is one of the oldest in the city; it owes its name to the emperor Joseph II, who in 1781 abolished the discriminatory measures against the Jews. Prague is one of the oldest and most famous Jewish centers in Central Europe: the presence of Jewish communities in Prague is documented from the first half of the 10th century.
Museo di Arte Moderna
The Veletrzni Palac (Palazzo delle Esposizioni) is a museum that is wrongly overlooked by the hordes of tourists who visit Prague, which mostly crowd Stare Mesto, Nova Mesto, Josefov and Mala Strana, but rarely go to the western suburbs towards Holesovice. The museum houses the most beautiful collection of modern art in the city. It is a modern 7-storey building (it is the real masterpiece of the functionalist style of Prague), and on 5 floors it exhibits works of art from the 19th and 20th centuries. https://www.tripadvisor.it/ShowUserReviews-g274707-d311278-r313230488-Veletrzni_Palac-Prague_Bohemia.html#
Orologio Astronomico
The Prague Astronomical Clock, in Czech Staroměstský Orloj (Clock of the Old Town), is a medieval astronomical clock located in the city of Prague, capital of the Czech Republic. The clock is mounted on the south side of the Old Town Hall, in the Square of the Old Town and is one of the most important tourist attractions of the city. The mechanism is composed of three main elements: the astronomical quadrant, on which, in addition to the hour, the positions in the sky of the Sun and the Moon are represented, along with other astronomical information; the "Procession of the Apostles", a mechanism that, at the stroke of every hour, puts in movement the figures representing the 12 Apostles; and a lower quadrant consisting of 12 medallions representing the months of the year.
Piazza della Città Vecchia
Where does the real heart of Prague pulsate? In the Old Town Square! Right here the winding streets of the Old City converge, and then flow into Prague's most beautiful square (the one in the Old City, in fact). The elegant Town Hall tower with the famous Astronomical Clock, the impressive silhouette of the fairytale church of Týn, the majestic church of St. Nicholas and numerous houses with colored facades, built in different architectural styles, give this place an unrepeatable appearance that will fascinate all those who surrender before so much beauty.
Piazza San Venceslao
It is the commercial and administrative center of the city, the place where many important social and historical events took place. Here we can find cinemas, theaters, banks, hotels, restaurants, dozens of small and large shops and administrative centers. It was built in 1348, during the foundation of the New Town by Charles IV. The square is dominated by the National Museum building (1885-1891) and the Wenceslas monument (1912, JV Myslbek), patron saint of the nation.
Ponte delle Legioni
his own story… At the beginning of the 19th century Prague was divided by the Vltava river and had only one bridge to unite both banks: the Charles Bridge. Prague at that time was growing both in terms of population and population, therefore it was necessary to adapt the infrastructure to new and increasing needs. The Ponte delle Legioni was born as a logical answer to the need for an improvement in communications between the two parts of the city.
Ponte San Carlo
The Charles Bridge of Prague (Karlův most) is the most important and famous bridge in Prague and joins the Old Town (Stare Mesto) with Mala Strana, the "Small Part" of the city. A bridge on which there are legends linked to the construction up to the alleged life of the statues that adorn it that seems to live their own life during the night. Of course if they are animated, they do not do it during the day, because the crowd of tourists, acrobats, sellers of squares and souvenirs that crowds the bridge by day would surely notice.
Teatro Nazionale
The National Theater is the most representative stage in the Czech Republic. It was built thanks to national collections and was inaugurated for the first time in 1881 and for the second time in 1883, after a devastating fire. The sumptuous exterior and interior decoration, which attracts attention especially for its rich gilding, is made up of masterpieces by 19th century Czech artists such as M. Aleš, F. Ženíšek, V. Hynais JV Myslbek and others. The representation of a theatrical drama, an opera or a ballet in the beautiful spaces of this building leaves visitors with an unforgettable memory.
Torre delle Polveri
It dates back to 1475 and is one of the most important late Gothic monuments of Prague. It is the monumental access to the Old City, through which passed the procession of the coronation of the Bohemian kings. The Powder Tower, which was once used as a deposit for gunpowder, is still considered the beginning of the Coronation Way or the Royal Way, which leads to Prague Castle. The panoramic gallery is located at a height of 44 meters.
Vicolo d'oro
The Golden Lane (in the Czech language: Zlatá ulička, full name: Zlatá ulička u Daliborky) is a famous street in Prague, located in the Castle area (in the Hradčany district) and features a row of 11 low-rise colorful buildings , which were built in Mannerist style from the late 16th century, initially to house the 24 guards of Emperor Rudolf II of Habsburg (1522-1612) and their families. In the street, for a short period, also famous writers lived, such as Franz Kafka (from 1916 to 1917) and Jaroslav Seifert. Today the street, one of the most visited places in the capital of the Czech Republic, is completely restored and in the small houses overlooks have been rebuilt popular homes similar to those that were there until 1956, when the last residents of the alley were transferred to other homes.
Village Green
This vast park with meadows, tall trees, a varied mix of woody plants on the slopes and a long avenue of plane trees offers the opportunity to relax and admire some beautiful views of Prague, especially from the Hanavský pavilion, which is an extraordinary construction in cast iron with restaurant. In the park you can spend your free time doing sports, walking and picnics or relax on the summer terrace of the restaurant located in the eastern part of the Castle of Letná.
