Itinerary description
We took this trail on the advice of locals. Boy was it a good advice! The path up is nicely marked with signs at every crossroads, so there's no chance on getting on the wrong path. It is really wide for the most part as it goes up the mountain and is well shaded from the sun with a beautiful evergreen forest. At one point the forest gives way to green lush pastures. I believe this part is private property as we had to go through a small gate in a fence, so please be respectful and stay on the path. While the path up wasn't crowded, the lake sure was, so we walked to the other side of it where there was less people to have our well deserved break.
This was our first over 2000m hike after all!
The path down is narrow, but again, well marked. The entire time it goes through the woods. Again, the way down wasn't crowded.
This hike is my 2nd favourite hike of them all (1st one being in the Dolomites, as that was our first serious hike) - it gives wonderful views of the valley, the nature, the air, the sounds are just breathtaking.
