Itinerary description
Beautiful hike in the Serra da Cabreira region with breathtaking views over the valley of Cavez.
In Formigeiro you descend towards the old water mill where you can take a swim in a waterhole in the Cavez. You cross the river and start climbing out of the valley until you see the layered green fields of Meijoadela.
Continue further, following the markings, until you reach the old 'casa florestal'. ...

Ignore the dogs at the start in Formigeiro. They bark but do no harm.
Lunch or dinner in café-restaurante 'O nariz do mundo' or 'Araújo' in Moscoso, near the end of the hike.
