Itinerary description
The trail start was a bit harsh. The initial climbing is a bit moderate for a 32º celsius day. However, it is under the tree shade and can be perfectly managed. The first stop is in Casal Novo. It as some nice typical houses but nothing more. The more touristic town is Talasnal. There, you can find bars and restaurants for a pit stop.

This is NOT an easy walk. An easy walk is one for someone who is unfit. We did it in reverse by going to Talasnal first. I was so glad we did. The walk after Talasnal from Casal Novo back to the castle was very steep going down and relentless through boring monoculture forest with zero view. If I had started with Casal Novo I wouldn't have finished the walk. The trail started at the castle and we walked to Talasnal first. It's almost a relentless climb with lots of actual steps in the rock and the last part to Talasnal is in full sun. Then you travel through a tiny portion of flat ground to Casal Novo, and then it's a steep walk back down to the castle. Depending on your balance you might be scrabbling down some sections as they are dry and with lots of gravel underfoot. Make sure you wear shoes with a good grip. Overall, a good walk, but not easy by any stretch of the imagination. I walked with 3 very fit people and they all agreed this was not an "Easy" walk. Take plenty of water, have plenty of breaks and you will be ok. Oh and start with Talasnal first! Good luck. :-)
Hello Michelle. You are absolutely right, the trail is not easy. I forgot to update the details, my apologies. I will update the information from "easy" to "difficult". Thank you very much for point that out! Happy walks!
Thank you so much. :-)
