Itinerary description
Easy trail with lots of shadow and beautiful ocean view from Peninha Sanctuary. Potable Water fountain near the end of the trail. To get there by car make sure you use RUA DA PENEDA DO CABO DA ROCA road as google maps may drive you through a shorter unpaved up the hill road nearby the sea (only good for 4X4 cars).

I did this with a mixed group including teenagers and older, less experienced walkers. It's very accessible to all. It's easy to follow but in some places could be better marked. The signs are worn out. In the Summer, the tarmac road leading to the Sanctuary is blocked due to fire safety measures. It's a circular trail but you will need to add another 1,5 km each way to get to the beginning of trail (from where the road splits between leading to the sanctuary or leading to capuchos.) If you do it leisurely it can easily take 2h.
