PR1 FLO Ponta Delgada / Fajã Grande

Atualmente, o trilho começa e acaba no mesmo sítio que o anterior, mas contorna a derrocada por um troço recentemente recuperado. O percurso inicia-se em Ponta Delgada, junto ao caminho que dá acesso ao antigo campo de futebol. Andamos pelo caminho de alcatrão sempre com a costa norte e a Ilha do Corvo à nossa direita. Na bifurcação perto do Farol de Albernaz podemos fazer um desvio até ao farol ou virar logo à esquerda, subir a estrada de cimento até encontrar um caminho antigo à nossa direita. Seguimos neste caminho entre hortências e vegetação endémica até uma subida à esquerda. Não se deve ir para frente porque este antigo trilho leva-nos até à derrocada e vai obrigar-nos a dar meia volta. Seguimos o caminho à esquerda onde a vegetação dominante é constituída por Urze e Cedro-do-mato. Quando chegamos à borda da falésia encontramos umas escadas em madeira e depois o trilho começa a descer sobre um piso inclinado com degraus em pedra natural. E precisa ter algum cuidado principalmente quando as pedras encontram-se molhadas. Depois da acentuada descida encontra novamente o antigo trilho que nos leva por um piso de pedra calçada até à Ponta da Fajã e Fajã Grande.

Now, the trail begins and ends at the same place, as the previous one but contours the landslide, using a section recently recovered. The trail begins in Ponta Delgada, next to the road to the old football field. You will walk along the tarmac road, having always the Northern coast and Corvo Island on your right. At the crossroads, near Albernaz Lighthouse, you can detour to go to the lighthouse or turn right away to the left, ascend the cement road until you find an old track on your right. Follow the track, between hydrangeas and endemic vegetation, until you have an ascent on your left. You should not walk straight ahead because this old trail will take you to the landslide and will make you turn back. You will follow the track on the left, where the dominant vegetation is heath (Erica azorica) and cedar (Juniperus brevifoglia). When you reach the edge of the cliff you will find some wooden stairs and then the trail continues by descending a steep track with natural stone steps. You need to be carefully, especially when the stones are wet. After the steep descent, you will find the old track that will take you along a stone track, until you reach Ponta da Fajã and Fajã Grande.
