Itinerary description

This walk represents a combination of the two signposted walks PR1 CSC Rota das Quintas II (Cascais) and PR6 SNT Capuchos (Sintra), located in the Parque Natural Sintra-Cascais. You can find information on the park (available only in Portuguese) under
http://www2.icnf.pt/portal/ap/p-nat/pnsc
You start at the parking lot of Quinta do Pisão (a nature park around an educational farm), from where you follow the waymarked PR1 CSC, ascending to Malveira da Serra.
Just before reaching the "Pedra Amarela" base camp, instead of continuing on PR1 CSC (which leads to Baragem da Mula), you follow PR6 SNT, which climbs up towards the top of Pedra Amarela with its fire watch tower (there is a great panoramic view from the geodetic marker nearby).
You then proceed mostly through forested area towards Convento dos Capuchos, which you can visit, description available under
https://visitsintra.travel/en/visit/monuments/capuchos-convent
The way back initially is on a wide forest road downhill, from which you can divert to the right in order to follow a track through the forest along a small stream which runs parallel to the road. Upon passing Baragem da Mula, cross the national road in order to reach the starting point.
