PR CV 427 BENIGEMBLA-COCOLL- CASTELL DE CASTELLS

El Cocoll, situat a Castell de Castells, és una muntanya que destaca poc pel fet d’estar envoltada per altres muntanyes de relleu més cridaner, però és una de les millors talaies per a contemplar la resta de muntanyes. Des del seu cim podrem gaudir de la meravellosa panoràmica de 360 graus que ens ofereix, on podrem albirar al sud la serra d'Aitana; a l'oest, la Serella, la Xortà i el morro Blau; a l'est, el Carrascar de Parcent, la Solana d'Alcalalí; al nord-est, el Montgó, i al nord, el Cavall Verd i la serra d'Alfaro.

Començarem la ruta a Benigembla. Eixirem del poble per la CV-720 direcció Castell de Castells. Caminarem uns 200 metres al costat de la carretera fins a arribar a l'entrada del camí Corral Nou on trobarem el panell informatiu de la ruta. En aquest punt comença el PR-CV 427. Pujarem primer per un camí, on al cap de pocs metres deixarem una casa i un corral en ruïnes a l'esquerra fins a arribar a una sendera que travessa un camp de figueres de pala. Caminarem entre camps abandonats, on en un passat hi havia cultius per a atendre la demanda de pansa o de palma. En un punt concret xafarem just sobre un aljub, l'aljub del Frare, el qual si no estem atents el passarem sense adonar-nos-en. Seguirem la senda i ens trobarem amb el corral de Malea. Anirem rodejant la muntanya fins a arribar al punt on començarem a pujar fins a arribar a l’aeròdrom en el pla de Moragues. Des d'allí, per la pista anirem a buscar el punt geodèsic del cim del Cocoll. Com que es tracta d'una ruta lineal, tornarem pel mateix camí.

El Cocoll, situado en Castell de Castells, es un monte que destaca poco al estar rodeado por otras montañas de relieve más llamativo, pero es una de las mejores atalayas para contemplar el resto de montañas. Desde su cima podremos disfrutar de la maravillosa panorámica de 360 grados que nos ofrece, donde podremos divisar al sur la sierra de Aitana; al oeste, la Serella, la Xortà y el Morro Blau; al este, el Carrascar de Parcent, la Solana de Alcalalí; al noreste, el Montgó, y al norte, el Cavall Verd y la serra d’Alfaro.

Comenzaremos la ruta en Benigembla. Saldremos del pueblo por la CV-720 dirección Castell de Castells. Caminaremos unos 200 metros junto a la carretera hasta llegar a la entrada del camí Corral Nou donde encontraremos el panel informativo de la ruta. En este punto comienza el PR-CV 427. Subiremos primero por un camino, donde a los pocos metros dejaremos una casa y un corral en ruinas a la izquierda hasta llegar a una senda que atraviesa un campo de higueras de pala. Caminaremos entre campos abandonados, donde en un pasado había cultivos para atender la demanda de pasa o de palma. En un punto concreto pisaremos justo sobre un aljibe, el aljibe del Frare, el cual si no estamos atentos lo pasaremos sin darnos cuenta. Seguiremos la senda y nos encontraremos con el corral de Malea. Iremos rodeando la montaña hasta llegar al punto donde empezaremos a subir hasta llegar al aeródromo en el Pla de Moragues. Desde allí, por la pista iremos a buscar el punto geodésico de la cima del Cocoll. Al tratarse de una ruta lineal volveremos por el mismo camino.

El Cocoll, located next to Castell de Castells, is a mountain that does not stand out much due to the fact that it is surrounded by other mountains that have a more striking relief, but it is one of the best vantage points from which to contemplate the rest of the mountains. From the peak you can enjoy the wonderful 360-degree panoramic view, from where you can see Serra de Aitana to the south, Serella, Xortà and Morro Blau to the west, Carrascar de Parcent and Solana d'Alcalalí to the east, Montgó to the northeast, and Cavall Verd and Serra d'Alfaro to the north.
The route starts in Benigembla. Leave the village along the CV-720 road, walking towards Castell de Castells. After about 200 metres, you get to the start of Camí Corral Nou where you can see an information panel for the route. This is where the PR-CV 427 route begins. First, go up a path, where after a few metres you pass by a house and a corral in ruins on the left, until you reach a path that crosses a field of prickly pear cactuses. You find yourself walking through some abandoned fields where in the past there were crops planted to meet the demand for raisins or other products. At a certain point you step right onto a cistern called Aljub del Frare which, if you are not careful, you can pass by without even noticing. Follow the path and soon you get to the livestock pen known as Corral de Malea. Go around the mountain until you get to the point where you begin to climb until you reach the aerodrome located on the plain known as Pla de Moragues. From here, go along the track until you get to the geodesic point at the top of El Cocoll. Due to the fact that it is a linear route, you have to return along the same path.
