Itinerary description
The Poldras route has been designed by the municipality of Vouzela.
The Poldras are a small part of the route while crossing the small river. The poldras are a set of stones placed sequentially in order for pedestrians to be able to cross the river. It has been used for hundreds of years for connection between villages.
Main highlights go the Roman path that crossed the central part of Portugal, from Viseu to the sea side. It has been used also along the Middle Ages.
The village of Fataunços has also these several aristocratic houses with coat and arms. Characteristic from the transition to the modern to the contemporary age.
Apart from that, the very interesting flora, full of native oak trees, cherry trees, pine trees, bushes and old farms that have been forgotten by time.
It is generally safe to do all year long since the route is not very technical.
