PR 03 FLO Miradouro das Lagoas - Poço do Bacalhau

Esta rota linear vai desde o interior da ilha até à Fajã Grande ao longo de uma extensão de 7,3 km. Durante o percurso sempre que for necessário transpor uma cancela, deixar a mesma fechada.
Inicie a caminhada no miradouro entre as lagoas Funda e Comprida, junto à Estrada Regional. Seguindo as marcas, contorne a lagoa Comprida pela direita (foto 1) por entre flora endémica como o Sanguinho (Frangula azorica), o Cedro-do-mato (Juniperus brevifolia) e o cosmopolita Musgão/Turfeira (Sphagnum spp.). Ao chegar à lagoa Seca siga à esquerda pela estrada, entrando novamente num caminho de terra que irá passar ao lado da lagoa Branca (foto 2).
Ao longo deste atalho, o piso pode encontrar-se enlameado e/ou escorregadio, sendo aconselhável o uso de calçado apropriado. Siga em frente até encontrar um caminho de bagacina (cascalho vermelho) continuando em frente até à bifurcação, opte pela esquerda até encontrar uma pastagem. Transponha a cancela para o interior do pasto, onde deverá seguir junto ao muro lateral direito.
Nesta fase aproveite para disfrutar da excelente vista para a costa Oeste com as freguesias da Fajã Grande e Fajãzinha abaixo (foto 3). Em dias de nevoeiro, ter especial atenção para não perder as marcas de orientação. Desça a falésia até encontrar uma escadaria em pedra à esquerda por onde deverá seguir até à Fajã Grande. Ao chegar à estrada, siga até ao mar e vire à direita para o Poço do Bacalhau (foto 4), o último desvio neste percurso.
Retorne até ao centro da freguesia e aproveite para disfrutar de um mergulho nas águas do Atlântico.

This linear route goes from the interior of the island until Fajã Grande along a length of 7,3 km. Along the trail and whenever necessary to cross a gate, always leave it closed.
Begin the walk at the viewpoint between the lakes Funda and Comprida, near the Regional Road. Following the markings, go right around the lake Comprida (photo 1) among the endemic flora like Buckthorn (Frangula azorica), Azores Juniper (Juniperus brevifolia) and the cosmopolitan Peat Moss (Sphagnum spp.) Arriving to lake Seca follow left on the main road going in again on a land road that will pass aside lake Branca (photo 2).
Along this shortcut, the ground may be muddy and/or slippery, being advisable the use of proper footwear. Continue forward until you find a lapilli road (red gravel) proceeding ahead as far as the fork, choose left until you reach a pasture. Cross the gate into the pasture where you must follow near the right side wall.
At this point, profit to enjoy an excellent view over the West coast with the villages of Fajã Grande and Fajãzinha bellow (photo 3). In foggy days, pay special attention not to lose the guiding marks. Go down the cliff until you find a stone stairway on your left where you should go until Fajã Grande. Arriving to the main road proceed as far as the sea and turn right to Poço do Bacalhau (photo 4), the last detour in this walk.
Return to the center of the village and enjoy a dive in the waters of the Atlantic ocean.
