Itinerary description
This trail is a combination of several official and unofficial trails between Agros and Kato Mylos.
We started from Rodon Hotel, one needs to walk about half a kilometer to the actual start of Potamitika trail. This trail is linear and has beautiful small oak grove closer to the end. At the end of the trail there is an option either to return back to the hotel by the main asphalt road (this will be a shorter route) or walk a bit and turn on to Alonatzia trail, which we walked separately some time ago (https://www.wikiloc.com/hiking-trails/alonatzia-nature-trail-kato-mylos-70783337 ) . We chose the 2nd option. After Alonatzia trail ended, we continued on the asphalt road towards Agros. The final part was an unknown nature trail with direction signs.
There is another trail nearby - Fteriki https://www.wikiloc.com/hiking-trails/fteriki-nature-trail-agros-134640708 however the signposting for this trail is somewhat challenging.
SEASON: Potamitika and Alonatzia trails are partially shady, all other parts are fully exposed to the sun.
TERRAIN: very different - Patamitika is narrow forest and rocky path, where poles would be handy, Alonatzia is a combination of forest and gravel-asphalt road, the rest is quite deserted asphalt road which changes to gravel and concrete then back to asphalt, the last part is forest path again.
Mild ascents and descents.
SIGNS: 1st trail doesn’t have a lot of direction signs but plenty of plants plates and benches, 2nd trail is very civilized, the rest of the road has nothing and the last part has direction signs but opposite to the movement direction.
KIDS: walkable with kids starting from 4-5 years.
At the end of Potamitika trail there is an intersection with another trail - Diosmides - Geratzia (https://www.wikiloc.com/hiking-trails/diosmides-geratzia-nature-trail-potamitissa-72121261 ) which you can combine as well.
Parking is around the Hotel.
