Itinerary description

The stage starts at the Castle in Belmonte, then goes out of town by Ginjal. From there it's a nice and flat walk through farmland. The trail passes the ruin of Torre Romano "Centrum Cellas". Further on you pass Quinta de Carvalheira with the sign for the crusaders, and then the little Village of Vela (cafes). Further on it's a walk uphill with beatiful panoramic views almost all the time. You pass the tiny old traditional villages of Fontão and Albadeiras. Then it's further uphill on a sandy pathway and down to Vale de Estrela (cafes). On the section from Vale to Guarda you have exceptional panoramic views. Stage drops at the hostel Brita Serta.
