Itinerary description
The stage leaves Castelo Branco by the Jardim do Paco, and the main roads out og town. It's an easy walk through the countryside on paved roads, through the villages of Cafede and Póvoa de Rio de Moinhes. (NB: Forgot to resume trail after a stop in Cafede, but you continue on the main road for some hundred meters, then take left onto a narrow paved road - there are no other options to Povoa so it should be easy). After Póvoa the stage continues on sandy countryroad until Soalheira. There's a nice scenery. From Soalheira there's a climb up to Bandeira (909) with great views, then it's downhill to Castelo Novo.
