Itinerary description
Van centrum Tavira wandelen we door de zoutpannen en wetlands naar het vissersdorpje Santa Luzia. We steken het bruggetje over naar Ilha de Tavira en keren terug langs de waterlijn op het strand. Opgepast: doe deze wandeling niet te laat in de namiddag, want je moet het voetveer halen om terug te keren naar Tavira. Wandeling op 18/06/2012.
From center of Tavira, we walked through the salt marshes and wetlands to the fishing village of Santa Luzia. Cross the bridge to Ilha de Tavira and return along the waterline on the beach. Caution: do not walk this track late in the afternoon, because you need to get the ferry to return to Tavira. Walk on 18/06/2012.

Per trein te bereiken vanaf station Nova Porta (Tavira) wandelen naar veerboot (1,5 km). Via Ilha Tavira naar strand Barril (ong 7 km). Doorwandelen langs de sinaasappel plantages naar station Luz de Tavira, ongeveer 3 km. totaal 12 km.
In totaal vrij gemakkelijke wandeling, Bij opkomend water is het zand rul, bij afgaand tij is het strand heel goed te belopen.
