Itinerary description

Porto out and back. I had planned to take the central (inland) route but forgot to look for the central route gps data. I noticed I was following the river to the coast so coast it is. My Mom called and I thought that Porto was the best place with an airport to head back to Louisiana for my Uncle Ponder’s services. God bless my family. Porto is the normal starting point for this Camino so I will look forward to the more social part one day. I can probably use the same pilgrim’s passport next time.

I had thrown away my old blue jeans to make my pack lighter. Now I want long pants for the flight so I went out last night when shops were closing. I found one place open but I think I have a pair of skinny jeans. These will be good throw aways at a marathon.

$800 dollar flight thru travelocity from Porto to Shreveport. Flight got cancelled and now a 43 minute connection time in Newark. No way that will work with customs. Travelocity sent me to United Airlines, which is always a big circle. They offered me a cancellation so I took that and booked same flights thru United for $900 (day of flight). Just got sn update that flight is not as delayed maybe 2 hour layover. This should work. Just saw a backpacker leave hotel. I should have hollered. I think I will take the coastal route when I come back. The beaches look great and lots of surfing. Need some shorter 12 mile days. I think I will prepare more of an itinerary next time. It all looks fun out here but most of the time it is exhausting with injuries or blisters. I was all alone hardly ever walking with anybody. I tried to think about every person I met since birth one day starting with the doctor. I met one lady on the Frances route counting her cousins. If you want time to pray and think then Lisbon to Porto is the route. Also spend time praying you don’t get run over with all the high speed roadways with no shoulders. Also beware of cars passing when you are facing traffic. I did not have any odd e counters except being approached by very persistent drug dealers in Porto. Some of the street bums speak fluent English and other languages. I only offered some cherries to one but he would only take cash. He came back by trying to sell a jacket.
