Itinerary description
Loop trail from Tabuaça passing through:
- Ponte de Santiago (5.3 km)
- Moinho (7.5 km)
This is an easy route, with only a slight incline for the first half to the Vazea Park.
The route uses a combination of wooden boardwalk, dirt paths and a section of public road.
For the most part, it follows alongside the river, with some peaceful scenic areas.
Sadly, some parts of the river are littered with discarded plastic bags that have been caught in branches.
There are several designated parking areas along the route, where it intersects with public roads, so it is possible to join or leave the route at those points.
I had hoped to see an otter but had no luck. But the bird life was plentiful.
