POKLJUŠKA SOTESKA
Foreword:
This tour starts near a small town called Krnica which is about 4 km from Bled. It is an easy, circular route, with a drop of about 200 m. and a distance of about 7 km.
It passes through totally virgin territory without any building and the whole route is marked, so there is no possible loss. The road runs through the ravine and the dry riverbed (the waters run underground) dating from the end of the last ice age and passing between rocky walls of more than 50 meters.
In this case and exceptionally is not paid either in the parking or on the route.
Description:
From the village of Krnica, we follow a small cart and then a dirt road and after 1.5 km we find an esplanade with a panel that indicates the route.
At this point we must follow the course of the road that is confused with the bed of a dry river. We should not follow the path to our right.
At the beginning the path goes up mixing with the river bed that sometimes lets see a little water. The terrain is very uneven until we reach a crossroads with several indicators and we must continue to our left indicated with "Galerije". The way back will take us to this point through the cave that is on our right. We follow the path between the rocky walls until we reach an esplanade where we meet the passage of the gallery formed by a wooden walkway and some stairs that will take us to the other side of the narrow pass "a marvel of nature". When leaving the gallery it will seem to us that we enter an unknown world or paradise, with exuberant vegetation.
When you reach the end of the gorge, the road turns to the right and goes up and passes through the upper part of the gorge, just follow the marks painted on the trees.
At a point on the road, after passing some meadows that are left to our left, we go down and take us to the cave, one of the points of great beauty, since it is a cave that has been formed by the erosion of water and has several holes in the form of chimneys at the top.
When we left the cave, after several meters, we reached the point where we commented at the beginning and headed back along the same path that we started until we reached the parking lot,
