Pokljuka - Kapela Marije Kraljice Miru - Sv. Martin - Kostel Sv. Pavla - Bohinjsko Jezero - Sv. Janez Krstnik - Embarcadero Ukanc 2022-08-05 10:32
After a two-year wait, due to the restrictions of the COVID-19, this summer we went to see a little Slovenia. As on other occasions, with the help of Ramon de Giroguies , who has found us an alternative adjusted to the objectives. You will see that they are a set of several self-guided routes, which have the particularity of being easy and of a distance of less than 20 km. In some cases you can make small extensions to complete the route. They have also provided us with travel, accommodation and breakfast, lunch en route and dinner is no challenge for where we have stayed. During these seven days we will have covered about 125 km. +4,475 m. -5,870 m.
Today, the seventh and last day of walking, they picked us up in Bled and took us to the Pokljuka plateau. Here we said goodbye to the two companions - they were staying in another hotel. From this point we followed the track to the beautiful chapel of Marije Kraljice Miru. We literally passed through the middle of the terrace of a restaurant and continued until we found the fork in a beautiful path that goes down to inhabited land. This section is the most beautiful of the day, with views of the mountains and cliffs.
From this point we combine asphalt and dirt track, we pass through different small towns until we reach Lake Bohinj. The impression it has given us is that it is a more "popular" lake, with fewer foreign tourists. We passed the church, crossed the bridge and followed the lake to Ukanc, where we took the small tourist boat that will return us near the church where a taxi will be waiting for us to go to the hotel from Bohinjska Bistrica.
Eager to get to the hotel, we didn't make it to the waterfall, but it can be done easily.
On this route we were again able to see several birds of prey in action, and for the first time here a beautiful witch hazel, right by the lake.
Health and Legs!!
