Itinerary description
The Pumlumon area is the largest watershed in Wales and is famous for being the source of the rivers Wye, Severn and Rheidol. This is a fairly short, straightforward walk in fine conditions. In mist things are significantly more challenging. The walk starts by following the rough service road to Llyn Llygad Rheidol. From there you carefully cross the overflow of the reservoir and head up the ridge. There are some faint paths but if you just keep heading up you will see or meet the fence. Follow that fence in a SE direction. It then turns S and keep following until you reach a gate where you turn to SW. Follow the path to the summit. Almost turn back on yourself but head more northerly to find the path back down to the service road.
