IMPORTANT NOTE: THE DIFFICULTY WITH WHICH I CATALOG MY ROUTES IS REFERRED TO MOUNTAINEERS USED TO WALKING, WHO DEVELOP WITH EASE ON ALL TERRAIN, NOT FOR OCCASIONAL TREKKERS. IF YOU HAVE LITTLE EXPERIENCE, ADD ONE MORE DEGREE TO THE DIFFICULTY OF MY ROUTES SO YOU DON'T GET SURPRISES.
Note: The unevenness marked on the route meter is quite wrong. The excursion is quite flat and does not have any physical demands. I estimate that at most 200 or 300m will be done, being very generous. It is a very comfortable route, really beautiful because of the colorful lakes, incredible waterfalls and lush forests, but very distorted in some sections where real crowds invade the paths and wooden platforms, making it difficult to enjoy this beautiful environment. Nones a mountain area and the people who visit it come from mass tourism. If you ignore this detail and what you have paid for a day ticket (€33) the environment could not be more beautiful, but for those of us who love the mountains and their solitude it can sometimes be quite difficult to enjoy attractions such as the Plitvice Lakes.
Plitvice Lakes National Park is undoubtedly one of the biggest attractions in all of Croatia, and although the price of admission is very high, the truth is that the place full of pristine lakes with crystal clear turquoise blue waters is well worth it. It is a World Heritage Site. The ticket includes the use of transportation inside the park, both water and land. We stayed a couple of days and this is the route we took on the first day. Being such a beautiful and famous place, it is usually too crowded, so it is good to try to get up early and, as far as possible, go a little against the current and sometimes get away from the busiest paths so as not to get too overwhelmed.
